MORE THAN A CHESSPLAYER.
There might’ve been some sore feet the next morning, but when the all new MINI Hatch arrived in Australia, we held a few parties that lived up to its reputation. Three iconic events around the country played host to a custom built, illuminated, interactive dance floor for the launch of the All New MINI Hatch.
Well known photographer, videographer, sculpture and musician Darren Sylvester, along with award winning design lab Eness, got together and created the ultimate dance floor complete with flashing lights and colours. And it didn’t disappoint. Inspired by his recent MELBOURNE NOW exhibition, Darren created his own light installation that worked together with Eness’ 3D mapping and projection installation. The result? A dance floor that responded to your every move. And a little nod to the state of the art LED centre instrument that makes an appearance in the All New MINI Hatch.
The party didn’t stop there either, the Naysayer and Gilsun duo made an appearance after coming back from wowing crowds at Golden Plains, Falls Festival, Big Day Out and MONA. Their dynamic musical creations were supported by some of Australia’s hottest dance music collectives in Pleasure Planet and Animals Dancing DJs (Melbourne), Astral DJs and Pelvis (Sydney) and Mitzi DJs and Jad and the Ladyboy (Brisbane). Phew. That’s more acts than a Shakespeare play.
As if that wasn’t enough, we topped it all off with a dance floor confessional booth, which was strategically placed inside the all new MINI Hatch. What was revealed were some surprising, and in some cases confusing, dance floor moves.
